Family Nook Contractors was built on a lifelong love of building and creating. With a background in Mechanical Engineering and hands-on construction experience dating back more than two decades, my work blends technical knowledge with practical craftsmanship.
Over the past 10 years, I've completing projects ranging from decks and framing to flooring, wall finishes, built-ins, fixture installation, and full room transformations.
What truly sets my work apart is the passion for bringing a space together. Beyond construction, I love the design process — shaping the layout, mood, and finishing details that make a room feel complete. Whether it’s a thoughtfully designed homeschool room, a backyard play space, or a hidden nook tucked into a child’s bedroom, we believe a well-crafted environment can inspire both function and imagination.
At age 7 I went into the garage and "borrowed" a handsaw, hammer and nails to build myself a ladder for climbing trees. Found out pretty quick you need at least two nails per rung, and after a quick design improvement my work was done. My love for design, mechanics and willingness to take initiative hasn't changed since!
In high school I constructed a quarter pipes, several launch ramps and fun boxes, for the use of myself and our neighborhood kids.
Graduated with a BS in Mechanical Engineering, a minor in math and two children. Woodworking transitioned into designing and making toys, storage units and small scale furniture.
Moving into a fixer upper brought a whole new set of skills. The resources found on Fine Homebuilding, through local tradesmen, co-workers at my engineering job and our town building inspector lead me to become well learned across home ownership and management.
I've built decks, sheds, chicken coops. I've installed playhouses, ziplines and fun little secret cubbies that can be opened with magic. I've remodels spaces
I started working for hire as jobs came up, working on a pool remodel, a historic wraparound porch remodel and siding project.
